Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC, said, “We are excited with the overwhelming response the IDEX and NAVDEX pavilion has received from major exhibitors and specialised companies participating in Euronaval. The high footfall demonstrates the growing importance of both events as definitive platforms to showcase latest defence technologies and innovations.”
He added, “Our participation in Euronaval aims to highlight the key opportunities created by NAVDEX for naval military organisations that are mandated to protect the integrity of territorial waters and ensure the safety of international shipping lanes amid the growing challenges facing maritime security.”
NAVDEX will host a dedicated area within the marine facility connected to ADNEC to accommodate the military ships participating in the event, while huge warships will be moored at Port Zayed in Abu Dhabi. The naval exhibition will also include live performances by many small and medium-sized vessels participating in the event.
Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of IDEX and NAVDEX, said, “Our participation in Euronaval is in line with our strategy to promote IDEX and NAVDEX to leading global companies across land, sea and air sectors of the defence and invite them to participate in the upcoming mega events.”
He added, “Our facilities within ADNEC allow us to host indoor, outdoor and marine events simultaneously. We attribute the continued success of both exhibitions to this facility and its ability to meet the dynamic requirements of major naval and maritime defence exhibitors.”
Al Mansouri also lauded the high professionalism demonstrated by both exhibitions teams staffed by several talented Emiratis who make diligent efforts to ensure the continued success of the most strategically important tri-service defence exhibition in the world.
The IDEX 2015 attracted more than 1,200 local and international defence manufacturers and contractors and drew over 101,000 visitors from across the world. The event also facilitated business deals worth AED18.3 billion.
