HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Khalifa University Board of Trustees, has acknowledged the contributions of Dr Mohamed Ramy El-Maarry, for having an asteroid named after him and his contributions to the field of astronomy.
Dr El-Maarry, Director of the Space and Planetary Science Group and Associate Professor of Earth Sciences, was recognised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), which renamed the 2002 CZ asteroid to (357148) El-Maarry.
