The World Government Summit (WGS) 2017 announced on Thursday it had selected the Landmark Group as the exclusive partner for the Global Happiness Dialogue, to be held in Dubai on February 11, a day before the summit’s launch.
The Dialogue is the latest addition to the fifth edition of the summit.
The Global Happiness Dialogue is the first international event of its kind that will see happiness experts, government officials and representatives of international organisations discuss ways to help governments ensure the happiness of their people.
Ohoud Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Vice Chair of WGS, said that the Global Happiness Dialogue, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, would be a valuable addition to the already comprehensive WGS agenda, and would positively impact people’s lives and governments across the world.
The Happiness Dialogue will bring together specialists in the fields of happiness who will hold a meaningful and constructive dialogue with government officials to define a scientific framework to ensure people’s happiness. The event will feature workshops and sessions on various topics such as stimulating the policies of happiness, ways to measure happiness, science of happiness and how to achieve happiness in cities. The outcome of these workshops and sessions will be compiled in a manual that will help governments raise the level of happiness across nations.
“We are proud to host around 300 experts and officials who represent the leading global minds in the field of happiness. They will highlight the most effective ways to practically implement happiness in societies and in government work by showcasing best-in-class experiences and learning in this field,” Al Roumi said.
Speaking on the partnership with Landmark Group, Al Roumi said, “Our partnership with the Landmark Group is in line with our efforts to enhance collaboration between public and private sectors. The private sector’s role is particularly significant as it is a vital partner in supporting development and making a tangible difference in people’s happiness and social welfare.”
Commenting on the occasion, Renuka Jagtiani, Vice Chairperson of the Landmark Group, said, “We are delighted to partner with the World Government Summit for this unique initiative.”
WGS 2017 is a global event and the Landmark Group is proud of to be the exclusive happiness partner at the summit. We commend the wise UAE leadership’s efforts and creative initiatives to bring happiness to all within the length and breadth of this dynamic nation.”
