The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) is steadfast in its quest for excellence through strategic plans and practical steps, which helped secure its position as a global leader.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Lt. General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA Dubai, said that the directorate has long since sought to make unprecedented achievements, which enabled it to bag 61 local and international awards, further cementing Dubai’s status as a leading global competitor in providing distinctive services.
GDRFA Dubai’s efforts pour into achieving the visions of the UAE’s leadership to improve the quality of life in the country, through developing innovative programmes and providing comprehensive digital services, as well as establishing and leveraging strategic partnerships to enhance the flexibility of services and achieve global levels of efficiency and competitiveness, he added.
He went on to explain that the vision of GDRFA Dubai revolves around its goal of becoming a pioneer in the field, enabling it to set benchmarks in terms of quality of services through its customer-centric approach, as well as utilise innovation and successful work models to achieve sustainability across the travel and tourism industry.
Asked about Dubai International Airport, Lt. General Al Marri said that the airport ranked first in terms of air traffic throughout 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 in the annual report issued by the Airports Council International (ACI), describing it as one of GDRFA Dubai’s top achievements.
Last year, he stated, the UAE was ranked first globally and regionally in terms of immigration laws in the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, and first in the number of international passengers indicator of the World of Air Transport report issued by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), with the UAE passport putting the country in the lead globally, according to the Passport Index.
Lt. General Al Marri revealed that the GDRFA’s “Smart Corridor†project completed 130,332 transactions in 2021, recording a customer happiness rate of 96 percent, while its “Smart Gates†project completed 4,116,968 transactions with a customer happiness rate of 98 percent.
