GCAA Youth Council hosts youth circle on future aviation trends

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Youth Council organised a youth circle entitled “Aviation 2050: future trends from an innovative perspective” within the International Program for Civil Aviation Leaders.
The youth circle was attended by Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the ICAO Council; and Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, and a number of transport ministers and heads of aviation organisations from various countries.
The youth circle focused on the importance of empowering the youth in the aviation sector, building capabilities and skills, as well as equality between men and women in the fields of aviation. The youth circles represent an important means for intellectual cultural exchange between generations and emphasise the soft power strategy in achieving a balanced economic presence.
Salvatore Sciacchitano, along with all the participants from the leaders of civil aviation around the world, expressed their admiration for the future visions presented by the youth during the session on the developments that the aviation sector will witness, stressing the importance of the role of youth in shaping the future of the civil aviation sector, as well as investing in youth and making them a role model in the field of civil aviation.
A number of speakers from the aviation sector participated in the circle: Barraq Abdulrahim, Project Manager, Strata Manufacturing; Amna Al Redha, Incubation Manager, Emirates airline; Ahmad Al Mutawa, Agile Delivery Manager, Emirates airline; and Yousef Rashid Al Ali, Air Navigation Services Senior officer, General Civil Aviation Authority.
The International Program for Civil Aviation Leaders, which ran from 28th to 30th March, came as an initiative to achieve the vision of the UAE government to strengthen international relations and share best practices in management, leadership and government practices to drive sustainable development in the civil aviation sector, and share the strategies of civil aviation pioneers and successful government experiences among the sector’s leaders.
