Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, has reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting families as the cornerstone of sustainable development, on the occasion of International Day of Families. In a statement marking the occasion, the Family Minister highlighted the pivotal role of the family in shaping the nation’s identity and development. She said that since the founding of the UAE, the family has been at the heart of national progress, serving as a source of care, support, and emotional and intellectual stability for generations.
“In the UAE, the family is not merely a social unit, it is the nucleus upon which generations rely for support, care, and emotional and intellectual stability. Its role extends from instilling national identity and Emirati culture to passing down traditions from one generation to the next, ensuring our roots remain firmly connected to our proud heritage and promising future,” she said.
The minister noted that this year’s International Day of Families theme strongly aligns with the UAE’s vision, emphasising the family’s role as a key driver of sustainable systems across all sectors.
“In the UAE, we firmly believe that the family is the bedrock of sustainable development. We reaffirm our commitment to advancing family-oriented policies and empowering and supporting families as the enduring foundation of our societies and our shared future,” she concluded.
