Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, visited the pavilion of Greece at Expo 2020 Dubai, the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
He explored the innovative experiences and tools on display, and the country’s approach to sustainable development.
Dr Sultan Al Jaber met with Ioannis Smyrlis, Secretary General for International Economic Affairs at Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was briefed on the latest technological developments and the interactive digital experiences on display at Greece’s pavilion, themed “Greece tomorrow, todayâ€.
They discussed economic and development opportunities in engineering and
innovation, and ways of enhancing entrepreneurship.
The host delegation highlighted Greece’s focus on
international partnerships and cooperation, as well as investing in specialised industries such as R&D in health sciences, heavy industries, waste management, and energy storage.
The UAE and Greece have strong bilateral relations and investments in various fields, as part of joint efforts to reach a comprehensive strategic partnership. The countries’ relations are founded on a solid base of common interests and compatibility of outlooks and
directives.
Both nations are keen to expand horizons of cooperation and find new opportunities for joint efforts, in service of mutual ambitions of the two people.
Recently, the governments agreed to form joint working committees to move forward in developing additional aspects of cooperation between them.
