ERC provides food aid to Arqa residents

SHABWAH / WAM

The Emirates Red Crescent Authority (ERC) as part of its relief and humanitarian work in Yemen, is providing food aid to the people of the Arqa region in the remote areas
and villages of the Shabwah Governorate.
The governorate is suffering from difficult economic conditions due to the war initiated by Houthi militias supported by ousted Yemeni president, Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Abdullah Al Mussafery, Head of the ERC Team in Yemen, stressed that food aid would continue to flow to Shabwah until the end of the crisis and the achievement of economic and military stability, like in other Yemeni cities and villages that enjoy the UAE’s support.
The distribution of food aid is a continuation of the authority’s humanitarian aid programme through a series of campaigns around Shabwah’s coastal areas, where they also accessed remote overcrowded areas where families suffer from difficult humanitarian conditions, he added.
