Fun Nation, a series of exciting and engaging workshops and performances will entertain guests of all ages at du Forum, Yas Island from July 14 to August 6 as part of Abu Summer Season 2016.
An exhilarating range of sports, fashion, gaming and cooking events will be held under one roof at this all-new destination brought to Yas Island by FLASH Entertainment, in association with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and MBC Group.
Visitors will be treated to celebrity appearances, thrilling competitions and interactive workshops designed to kick-start the fun for kids and adults alike this summer. Sports and cooking events will take the venue by storm from July 14-23, followed by a second period dedicated to thrilling activities for gaming and fashion from July 28 to August 6.
During the first week famous sports stars such as Australian cricketer Brad Haddin and former AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini will be making appearances during a grand finale session at the Central Pitch on July 22 and July 23 respectively, hosting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win signed memorabilia. Culinary enthusiasts on the other hand can participate in a sensational experience as “Juice Master†Jason Vale leads a masterclass in juicing and liquid recipes on July 20, as well as join famed Australian foodie Karen McLean from the Secret Squirrel Food Blog on July 15 for a live demonstration of her cooking techniques.
Young aspiring chefs can also learn the tricks of the trade with famous cartoon characters Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants through the engaging “Kitchen Mission†workshops, while avid gamers can enjoy a host of entertainment options in a series of tournaments featuring famous titles including FIFA, Super Smash Bros. and Street Fighter. To add a whole new level of excitement to the month-long event, featured competitions in fashion and fitness will be offering prize pools up to AED 10,000. One of the challenges featuring this amazing prize is the Abu Dhabi’s Fittest Person Competition, involving daily qualifier events leading up to a grand finale on Saturday, July 23.
A variety of health and fitness activities will also be available for visitors to enjoy, such as the “Cycle for a Cause†event which challenges budding athletes to cycle as far they can and raise money for the Red Crescent. The Healthy Living Exhibition will offer guests the opportunity to learn more about the science behind healthy food and an active lifestyle. Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2016 is an exciting programme of world-class international theatre shows, comedy acts, concerts, circus performances, and more that will be held at venues across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. The season, designed to entertain the entire family, will span Eid-al-Fitr, the school holidays and Indian Independence Day from July 7 to September 11.
