Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum patronized
on Tuesday the opening session of the 4th edition World Green Economy Summit, which kicked off at DWTC in Dubai.
Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also attended the opening session where Saeed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA delivered keynote speech.
“In collaboration with national banks, we are pleased to announce that Dewa has raised AED2.4 billion for the Dubai Green Fund,†said Saeed Al Tayer. The fund will eventually be worth Dh100 billion, he added. Sheikh Mohammed and the attendees watched an interactive visual show on the UAE’s achievements in the field of green economy.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid honoured the platforms of the UAE, Italy and South Korea as the recent states joining the Countries Platform of the Dubai-based World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO).
Also present were Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, among others.
Mohammed visits WETEX 2017

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited the19th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2017). His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was accompanied by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.
Sheikh Mohammed toured the exhibition area, and reviewed the latest technologies displayed at the exhibition, where more than 2,000 exhibitors from 40 different countries are participating.
His Highness stopped by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, where he was briefed by Saeed Al Tayer, DEWA’s Managing Director and CEO, on the authority’s latest projects and developments.
