India Palace chain of restaurants, founded in 1997, takes pride in showcasing a 400-year-old gourmet experience along with the grandeur and tradition of palaces from the Mughal dynasty era to the people in the UAE. India Palace in association with the Zayed Higher Organization (ZHO has unveiled its latest initiative – the introduction of Braille menus at their Dalma Mall branch on 12th October, 2023, at 10 am by Mrs. Beena Muraleedharan, Director SFC Group and the eminent Madam Naeema Al Mansouri also known among Emiratis as “Mother of the Blind” for her Humanitarian Care.
In a remarkable stride by the home grown brand towards inclusivity and accessibility, this endeavor is a heartfelt commitment to making the dining experience at India Palace more welcoming and convenient for visually impaired individuals. These menus are thoughtfully designed to empower visually impaired patrons, enabling them to independently explore the culinary delights on offer.
The inauguration was followed by felicitation of Mr. Ghaith Mohammed Aleghfeli (UNICEF Ambassador) and Ms. Sheikha inspiring positive change and serving as exemplary role models for “People of Determination”. Their inspirational work with this community was acknowledged and applauded. The event also had empowering Games for kids and a rapid quiz program conducted encouraging everyone to embrace diversity. The prelude to the braille menu launch was the cooking session conducted by the India Palace Corporate Chef Guneet Singh Bindra, where participants prepared multiple dishes and cherished a remarkable experience.
With the introduction of Braille menus, India Palace Restaurant is aligning the vision of the UAE government’s vision to empower and integrate people of determination into society especially the blind and visually impaired. This move is a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to the country and supporting it’s diversity, equality, and ensuring that all patrons can partake in the flavors and traditions of India with ease and dignity. This initiative serves as an inspiration to other establishments, encouraging them to embrace diversity and take steps to ensure that everyone can enjoy their offerings to the fullest.
