Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, the “UAE MotoSurf Championship†is scheduled to be held on March 18, 2023 in “Al Qanaâ€, the unique waterfront located at the gateway of Abu Dhabi and considered one of the most famous tourist destinations in the capital.
A host of international champions and contestants are expected to participate as MotoSurfing is considered one the most popular modern sports internationally.
Ahmed Thani bin Murshid Al Rumaithi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club and Managing Director, confirmed that choosing “Al Qana†comes within the club’s plan to search new beaches and waterfronts to hold marine races in Abu Dhabi and promote touristically by presenting them to the marine sport enthusiasts.
Ahmed Thani Al Rumaithi spoke about the list of venues that succeeded in enhancing the club’s marine presence in the past seasons: “We succeeded in holding marine festivals in various beaches and destinations, most notably in the city of Al Marfa and Al Silaa in Al Dhafra, Yas Beach, Al Hudayriat Beach, Al Qurum and currently Al Qana as a new
destination†he said.
Ahmed Thani Al Rumaithi thanked “Al Qana†management for sponsoring the MotoSurf races and for cooperation to make the event successful that further promotes marine tourism in Abu Dhabi.
It is worth noting that the partnership between Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and “Al Qana†for organising the event comes to be the first marine MotoSurf championship to be held in a canal area. The event will be accompanied a host of activities that will provide the audience with the opportunity to enjoy the races more on “Al Qana†waterside and waterfronts walkways.
