The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s (ADJD) Centre for Legal and Community Awareness has launched an expanded awareness campaign against domestic violence that will run for three months. The “Violence… the End of Family Stability” campaign aims to raise public awareness of various preventive measures against domestic violence, highlight its detrimental effects, educate on family rights and obligations, and underscore penalties for offenders.
Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, ADJD Undersecretary, emphasised the vital role of the Centre in protecting society through preventive measures. This includes increasing legal and community awareness to promote proper behaviour and uphold rights guaranteed by the law, aligning with directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of ADJD.
Utilising modern technological tools, the centre is disseminating targeted awareness messages across social media and multiple platforms to fulfill strategic and national objectives. The goal is to prevent criminal activity and wrongdoing, ensuring the preservation of family and societal rights. Counselor Dr Muhammad Rashid Al Dhanhani, Director of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Legal and Community Awareness, highlighted the campaign’s focus on maintaining family values. A strong family structure, he noted, is essential for societal and educational development, fostering self-confidence, respect, and appreciation among its members. Dr Al-Dhanhani stated that the programme’s goal is to educate all members of the community about the value of encouraging family dialogue and fostering a culture of respect among family members in order to preserve the safety and entity of the family.
