Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club announced that the UAE Remote Control Boat Championships begins on February 4 as part of the marine sports season in the capital, Abu Dhabi.
As many as 34 competitors are taking part in three categories of the tournament — 2 Cell, 3 Cell and 4 Cell for junior, novice and professional categories respectively.
The tournament bears great importance for the community of competitors in marine sports, as it is one of the modern sports that has been widely spread around the world
lately and witnesses greater
participations and attendance.
A remote briefing for the participants regarding the details of the track, laws and regulations was held. The tournament was launched on Friday with the the preliminary qualifiers and free trials. The qualifiers will follow with the participation of all the contestants in the first round.
Nasser Al Dhaheri, Head of the Modern Racing Department, Abu Dhabi confirmed that the UAE Remote Control Boat Championships saw a large participation, especially with the diversity of the categories and the great performance of the boats. He continued: “This tournament has gathered a great reputation and presence among young people in the past period, and continues to spread widely through the number of participants and the demand for registration. We expect a delightful and firm competition in all the categoriesâ€.
