HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, stressed that May 6, 1976, is a glorious day in the country’s history, as it marks the decision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to unify the UAE Armed Forces, highlighting his pride in the readiness and capacities of the Armed Forces.
“Today, we honour the founding generation of our Armed Forces. They served with integrity and dedication in the early days of our nation. We pray for our beloved country always to enjoy peace and stability,†HH Sheikh Khaled said.

The day, May 06, 1976, is a glorious one in the country’s history, as it marks the decision by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to unify the UAE Armed Forces, and I highlight my pride in their readiness and capacities.
Today, we celebrate the passing of 47 years of the unification of our Armed Forces as we highlight our pride in their readiness and capacities. They have fulfilled their mission to strengthen the nation’s security, prosperity and stability, as well as their role in preserving the Union’s achievements, and conducted their foreign missions aimed at helping achieve world peace.
The Armed Forces have received complete support from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, facilitating its modernisation and promoting its role.
Today, we honour the founding generation of our Armed Forces, who served with integrity, loyalty and dedication in the early phases of the Union’s establishment. We also salute all Armed Forces commanders, officers and recruits who have fulfilled their missions.
