His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met Gerry Brownlee, New Zealand Defence Minister, in the country’s capital, Wellington.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed cooperation relations between the UAE and Australia, especially in the defence and military sectors, and ways of enhancing them. HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and the New Zealand Minister also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of the Department of East Asia and Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Major General Abdullah Al Hashimi, Executive Director Strategic Analysis, UAE Ministry of Defence.
Meeting with New Zealand’s Minister of Security Intelligence
Sheikh Abdullah met Chris Finlayson, Minister in Charge of the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service.
During the meeting, which took place in Wellington, the two sides discussed cooperation and friendly relations between the UAE and New Zealand, especially in the field of strategic security cooperation and ways of strengthening regulations on peace and security at regional and international levels.
HH Sheikh Abdullah and Finlayson also reviewed the political and security changes in the Middle East and Arab region.
