Dubai’s projects forum to focus on future needs of nation and cities

Discussing the future of the nation’s needs, and those of its cities, will include reviewing education, health, transport infrastructure and water resources during the 3rd edition of the Dubai International Project Management Forum, to be held from October 22-25.
Sponsored by the Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, the Forum will seek to link its focus with the UAE Strategy for Shaping the Future, to assure that the Forum is consistent with the UAE’s vision.
Laila Faridoon, Executive Director of the Office of the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, noted, “The slogan of the 3rd DIPMF, of ‘Shaping the Future’, is consistent with UAE’s strategy for the future, which reiterates our commitment to support the future objectives of the UAE.”
The theme of the Forum, “Future Cities”, also echoes the UAE’s Strategy in other sectors, such as education, health, transport infrastructure and water resources, as well as water and food security. Such a strategy is repeated in developing strategic plans for shaping the future of these sectors, identifying the anticipated transitional, challenges, and developing the skills required to tackle such challenges.
The sustainable project management and public-private partnership themes also is part of the UAE’s strategy in other sectors, such as energy, minerals, water resources, sustainability, the environment and climate change. These are reflected in charting out strategies for the anticipated challenges and overcoming them in order to make these partnerships a success and ensure the sustainability of their projects
“The theme of the Youth Projects Management Forum echoes the UAE’s strategy for the economic and commercial security sector, as well as human capital and innovation sector, in terms of shaping the future of the population and young people and identifying their impact on the economy and the labour market, since the theme is also associated with economic security,” said Faridoon.
“The theme of the Forum, in relation to leadership in a multicultural environment, is associated with the UAE’s strategy in the positive and happy life environment sector, electronic security sector,” she said.
