The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) concluded the 2024 edition of Sharjah Summer Promotions yesterday, Sunday, with a grand celebration at Sahara Centre in Sharjah, marking the successful culmination of 63 days of vibrant activities organised in collaboration with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).
Held under the slogan “Get set for a summer brimming with discounts and adventures”, this year’s Sharjah Summer Promotions has been a success. It attracted a large turnout of visitors and shoppers, generating substantial revenues, exceeding AED 700 million, for the retail sector and other economic industries, thereby solidifying the emirate’s status as a premier shopping and tourism destination in the region.
The highlight of the closing ceremony was the eagerly anticipated grand raffle draw, where Ali Salah Mahdi, from Iraq, won a luxury car. Attended by a large audience, the ceremony also featured the distribution of valuable gifts to many shoppers, as part of the total AED 3 million prize pool awarded to over 200 winners. These prizes included gold bars, shopping vouchers, and diverse hotel packages.
The 21st edition of Sharjah Summer Promotions saw extensive participation from major shopping malls and retail outlets across all cities and regions of the emirate, bringing significant discounts on renowned local and international brands.
It featured the launch of the “Back to School” Campaign which offered major discounts of up to 80 percent on diverse school supplies, receiving particular attention and turnout from parents across the emirate.
HE Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, emphasised that the Sharjah Summer Promotions festival carves out a significant spot in the SCCI’s annual calendar of events; due to its contribution to strategic goals that benefit both the emirate’s economy and community. These promotions help attract visitors and residents, driving economic and commercial growth across Sharjah.
He added that this shopping extravaganza offers an ideal opportunity to boost the retail sector and its related industries while highlighting Sharjah’s numerous tourist attractions.
For his part, Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at SCCI and General Coordinator of Sharjah Summer Promotions, noted that this year’s edition of the shopping festival has successfully revitalised the retail and commercial activity within the emirate, leading to a marked increase in sales.
The 2024 Summer Promotions featured discounts on a wide range of renowned local and international brands, along with a variety of retail products. These discounts offered consumers an exceptional shopping season, incentivising higher spending through competitive pricing and extensive offerings.
Aside from special deals and promotional discounts, the 63-day shopping festival featured packed schedule of 70 entertainment activities, including heritage and artistic performances,offering visitors a unique shopping experience across Sharjah’s various commercial markets and popular tourist attractions.
The blend of entertainment, discounts, and cultural engagement provided both shoppers and families with a unique, value-added experience. This included workshops, competitions, and interactive activities events tailored for children and all age groups, fostering a dynamic environment that catered to a broad demographic.
The 2024 edition of Sharjah Summer Promotions also included a series of raffles that took place across several shopping malls, drawing considerable crowds. This festive and family-friendly atmosphere demonstrated the strong and vibrant appeal of Sharjah’s markets and commercial areas, attracting shopping enthusiasts from both the emirate’s visitors and residents.
