An attacker using military-style weapons killed at least 10 people in Thailand and appeared to livestream the assault on Facebook.
Many others were injured in the incident on Saturday and the assailant remains at large, according to police spokesman Kritsana Pattanacharoen.
The shooting took place in a city commonly known as Korat in Nakhon Ratchasima province northeast of Bangkok.
The attacker targeted Korat’s city centre, including the Terminal 21 shopping mall, and posted live updates on Facebook before his page was shut down. Police said the suspect was believed to be an army corporal and remained inside the mall.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha in a statement said security forces were trying to apprehend the attacker.
