His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received on Sunday Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS 2018), Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Prime Minister Modi discussed boosting strategic cooperation between the two nations as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The Indian Prime Minister’s visit comes as part of the two leaderships’ efforts to boost mutual cooperation in all areas. It also comes to follow up on the strategic direction that the two countries’ relationship is taking.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed areas of cooperation between the two nations and ways to boost and develop them in order to meet the aspirations of their two respective peoples. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
The meeting was also attended by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group; Dr Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Ruler’s Court; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India.
Mohammed hails French PM’s speech at WGS
Sheikh Mohammed received Edouard Philippe, Prime Minister of France, who delivered a speech at the first session of the World Government Summit, in Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the French Prime Minister hailing his speech at the Summit.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed the visiting guest in the presence of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed and Prime Minister Philippe reviewed the historic ties between the UAE and France. His Highness emphasised the continuation of these relations, which was laid down by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the successive French Presidents. He described UAE-French ties as distinctive, saying, “These are ideal, historical and strategic relations based on mutual respect, justice and equality for the national interests of the two friendly peoples.”
The French Prime Minister praised the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, reiterating the French President’s keenness to develop them in various fields so that they remain strong so long as there is a sincere and joint desire by the leaders of the two countries.
The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future and Chairman of WGS, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Ruler’s Court, Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, and Omar Saif Ghobash, UAE Ambassador to France.
Mohammed receives WEF founder

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum (WEF), who is taking part in the World Government Summit in Dubai.
Also present were HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed and Professor Schwab reviewed a number of topics on the agenda of the sixth World Government Summit and ways to activate the recommendations and resolutions of the Summit to benefit from the ideas, proposals and results of the discussions of experts, consultants and government officials participating in this global gathering.
Fujairah CP meets PM of Kyrgyzstan

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, met Prime Minister Sapar Isakov of Kyrgyzstan
on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS 2018), in Dubai on Sunday.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed current ties between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan. His Highness emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation and enhancing strategic partnerships between the two countries, across all sectors.
Salem Al Zahmi, Director of Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, and Eshimbekov Chyngyz Kazybaevich, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the UAE, also attended the meeting.
