Sharjah discusses policy promoting citizens’ benefits

Several members of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) discussed all the policies of the Sharjah Department of Housing (SDoH), reviewing the efforts of the Department in working to promote and improve the reality of the housing process in the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as proposing a number of solutions aimed at promoting citizens’ benefits.
During the session, they discussed the future of housing plans, calling for the importance of the financial services provided by allocated banks, providing loans for the citizens, contributing to coordinate all housing-related projects. The attendees stressed also the importance of concerted joint efforts to meet the increasing demand for government housing.
This comes during the eighth session, as part of the work of the third ordinary session of the tenth legislative term, at SCC headquarters in Sharjah headed by Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), in the presence of Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and Head of the Department of Housing, as well as several other dignitaries.
Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of Sharjah Consultative Council reviewed the general topic of discussion.
During the meeting, Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji delivered a speech reviewing the Department’s efforts in the field of housing projects, its plans and electronic services, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to ensure decent living and stability for the emirate’s family members, reflecting the stability, safety and progress of society.
The attendees discussed the Department’s activities and distinguished efforts in the field of housing support in the emirate, shedding light on the Department’s initiatives and work development, in line with the directives of HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council.
They have further reviewed a new financing model that has been developed to secure financial support for residential projects, as a pioneering step to overcome the repercussions of Covid-19 pandemic and its effects on economic activity in general.
During the session, more than twenty-nine members asked several questions and raised inquiries about the department’s policies, and stressed the community’s need to provide housing complexes and housing projects, targeting Emirati families in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji and his assistants gave a full explanation to the members about the Department’s competencies, roles and communication with other housing authorities to secure housing for citizens.
He also talked about all the inquiries raised by the council members, referring to the initiatives presented by the Department, the integrated electronic services and the housing plan in the Emirate of Sharjah.
