The Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade donated AED1.7 million to the Zakat Fund, as part of the responsibility of banks in the UAE to provide zakat money to eligible beneficiaries through the Zakat Fund, by supporting its charity and humanitarian projects.
The donation took place during a meeting between Abdullah Aqeeda Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund, Nabil Tayeb Al Khouri, Islamic Banking Services Advisor to the Bank, and several of the bank’s officials. Al Muhairi praised the bank’s donation, which is the first zakat donation from a bank during the Year of Zayed 2018, while adding that the zakat reflects the bank’s desire to support social solidarity.
